Consultation
The consulting room can accommodate up to a maximum of 22 people. The volumes are requested from the operators in charge by filling in specific forms (3 monographs/folders of press clippings/volumes of magazines for each request). Currently the users can consult the catalog, both through the internet and with three workstations.
Loan
Internal loans are available to students, teachers, course assistants, professional appointees, and employees of the Foundation. The following items may not be borrowed under any circumstances: rare books, books published more than ten years ago for which no reprints exist, serial publications, typewritten screenplays, unbound issues and bound periodicals, encyclopedias and dictionaries, non-book materials, and press clippings. Up to 3 books may be borrowed at a time; all borrowed items must be returned within 15 days, with the possibility of a 15-day extension. In case of loss, an amount corresponding to the current value of the book will be charged. Requests for external loans will be assessed in accordance with current regulations. If the request is approved, the borrower must pay a deposit equal to the current value of the book, which will be refunded upon return of the item. The deposit must be paid on site by card; refunds will be issued via bank transfer. In case of non-return, the deposit — equivalent to the value of the book — will not be refunded.
Reproductions
Photostatic reproduction can be made by the users using the equipment supplied with the Library, paying the unit price of 0.12 cents for each photocopy made. The service is carried out in compliance with current legislation on copyright (L. 248/2000): so within the 15% limits of each volume or periodical issues (excluding advertising pages), unless it’s a rare work that is not present into the editorial catalogs.
Valuable or badly preserved volumes cannot be photocopied; those scanned and recorded can be printed by the staff and paid by the applicants at the cost of a photocopy.
Furthermore screenplays and, in general, typewritten materials, cannot be photocopied, except to waivers requested for cultural purposes, to be assessed on the basis of current legislation on copyright.
