The Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia boasts a long and complex history, which is inextricably connected to the evolution of Italian cinematography and the history of the nation itself. Established in the Thirties, during the Fascist era, it was plundered by the Nazis during the war, it flourished throughout the years of the economic boom, it was a key player in the chaotic and fervent period that was 1968 and shared all crises and rebirths of our film industry and our society. And now, in the XXI century, as the film industry is “surrounded” by new media and modern techniques but keeps fighting heroically for its central role, the Centro shares its transformation into something unknown but which will be thrilling to discover.
